Is it possible.

if so are you guys up for the challenge.

Stay tuned.

So does this have anything to do with that mysterious fantasy TBS game that we have heard about but have as of yet absolutly no information about? Common! don't you know that every single game company must release as much info as they can about their games as early as possible to build up enormous hype so that when the game is released it is sold more on empty promises that had to be cut out of the game during the developing cycle than anything that is actually in it? Don't you guys know how its supposed to be done!

I think Leinad0033 is probably well aware of this, and was simply being ironic when he said that. By pointing out what most game developers do (generate a lot of empty hype), he was saying that Stardock doesn't do that -- which is precisely one of the reasons we're so fond of them.

@Frogboy: Gah! I understand your reasons for not announcing anything about your TBS fantasy game yet, but all your teasing about it is killing me! I sometimes wish I could be put into cryogenic stasis for the next 6-12 months so that the wait wouldn't be so unendurable.

sorry martok but you have to suffer along with the rest of us.

The real challenge would be doing a game like this WHILE finishing Twilight AND releasing the new Political Machine.

Yup, BoogieBac, and since we all must cope with priorities ourselves, i'd say the only way to be reasonably good at it is to flip a simple coin and see (or wish real hard about) what happens!

Just take my huge development plans for X-Worlds -- during the last few months i've been tossing the thoughts so much, my brain feels like gelly at times. Although lately, i made a lot of progress with surface tiles Icons/Queries sets and the entirely new TechTree(s) of X-Com. Key here, i guess, is to show some kind of patience and perform timely rushes (or sloooooow ones!) of multi-task(s).

Overhere, we can all only hope for the fastest results, ya know - and, pay willingly for the wonderful stuff once that's done!

Damn, Zyxpsilon, have you ever made a post that not once included the word "X-Worlds"?

I've never had much interest in fantasy or role playing games. My thing is space and science fiction. However, I wasn't much into TBS until I played GC2, I wasn't much into RTS until I played Sins of a Solar Empire. Much to my chagrin, Stardock may well get me into fantasy TBS.

Noyessy, kinda!

I am completely absorbed by the task(s)... and it shows when i must figure what to answer to anything. I'd even say that modding (in general terms) GC actually adds value to the overall experience - including all the other wonderful stuff made by a LOT of people as one can witness in the library.

And with TA blasting its way in our "lives" soon, it's obvious that even more activity will bring us all to the new gaming frontiers.

See, looka above - the (?)-wor(l)d isn't there.
But... gotcha!!

(PS, though; GTeChnos is comin' along fine as i made a week-end test-run on a very early compiled version - and some of the features were mostly stable. This is NOT anywhere near final release status but, assuming lotsa spare time comes around, i may find a way to fix a beta before the end of May or something. Knowing how TotA will completely revise technology assets, it should prove to be quite a ride -- which is why, i guess, another utility similar to Galactopedia could become somehow helpful to players.)

Thus, developping all kind of stuff for GC-2++.. is & will be fun anyway.

Damn you!

This hybrid of a strategy game and an RPG was what made MoM so unique. It actually managed to capture the feeling of not only national power, as with all strategy games, but also personal power. The successes and failures of your armies on the battlefield could directly affect your personal power, if they captured or lost mana nodes. Similarly, your personal power could directly affect the battlefield and the world.

Mana, which fueled your personal power, was addictive. The more I got, the more I wanted, and I was willing to sacrifice countless minions in battle if it meant securing a new source to augment my personal power!

From what little Brad's said of the fantasy game, it's clear he likes that mechanic too, so I'm guessing it'll be a core aspect of the game.

Stay tuned is good news then...

I just wish I could see some screenshots or at least have a small faq...

Can't wait.

I even started playing MOM again just for the fun of it

Probably referring to Society , not the fantasy TBS. That's probably not until next decade though.
