say McDonald's charges 1 dollar for a hamburger. 50 cents goes to pay for the product. 20 cents for labor. 10 cents for other costs. 15 for taxes. that leaves 5 cents profit.

for those who need help that is 5% profit margin.

now say all expenses double. 1 dollar for the product. 40 cents for labor. 20 cents for other costs. and 30 for taxes. that leaves 10 cents profit.

and for those who need help that is still only 5% profit margin. meaning that the company is now making double it was after all of it's expenses doubled. so companies don't really mind paying more for everything because they make more cash off of it.

and as i have tried to explain to gene when you add more taxes to the rich they just pass it on to their customers. the classes that gene says he wants to protect. that would be the middle and lower classes. so if you really want to protect these classes you raise taxes on them and not the rich.
