just heard this on fox news.

home land security is asking the new York firefighters to keep an eye out for terrorists when they go into someones home. the reason is because firefighters don't need a WARRANT to enter a house.

ie home land security is trying to circumvent our rights. i have been saying all along that home land security was a bad thing.

They already fill that role for Child Protective Services and Social Service. In fact there is a list of things that Emergency Services are required to report, even if they merely suspect something.

I think most emergency services workers would report it if they saw or heard evidence of terrorist activities. Encouraging people to be aware of what's going on around them isn't infringing on anyone's rights. Holding them responsible if they don't though, that is a problem.

except that home land security is incouraging them because they don't need a warrent. and that is infringing on our rights.

So should a firefighter who hears or sees something pertaining to a terrorist attack in a home keep it to himself?

no

but that is different than being encourged to search a house because you don't need a search warrent,.
